This website was developed over one year, using the following procedure:
- Consultation with over 100 frontline workers across Scotland to determine their needs (focus groups and on-line survey).
- Review of currently available websites/leaflets/books on mental health issues.
- Writers’ group meetings to determine style of material based on consultation findings.
- Questionnaire sent to specialist workers to access helpful information and advice.
- Collation and review of gathered information.
- Writing of draft sections by various different specialist workers.
- Editing of sections to ensure consistency of style and accuracy.
- Design of website function and style.
- Planning, filming and editing video materials.
- Compiling the website.
- Pilot of draft website with 16 frontline workers.
- Re-writing and design changes to respond to workers’ comments.
- Circulated to specialists to check safety of written materials.
- Final editing.
- Toolkit Launch - 6 June 2007.
- Design and carry out post-launch evaluation study.
- Ongoing development in response to post-launch evaluation.
